Tiger Tales Link (English/Spanish)

From the Office:

Drop off lines are moving lines. You may not park/exit your car to walk a student in before school from the drop off line. People exiting their car are causing the line not to move, which is causing unsafe entering/exiting the drop off line. Please drop off your student and drive away. Please pull up as cars move. If you missed the line, please don’t pull over in the red. Loop back around and try the drop off line again. If you want to walk your child in, please use the parking lot and crosswalk. We all want to start our mornings in a positive way. If everyone can adhere to these guidelines we can show safety is a priority.

A ‘note’ from Ms. Kaufman:

Mark West music classes will be starting in mid-February for all TK-3rd graders! In the TK-2nd music classes, we will explore musical concepts through movement, games, listening, chanting, singing, dancing, and playing percussion instruments. 3rd graders will be learning to play the soprano recorder. Music classes will continue to mid-May.

Please join the 4th-, 5th-, and 6th-grade music students for our annual District Winter Concert on the evening of Thursday, February 29 in the Mark West Elementary gym. All guitar, clarinet, and trumpet students will perform from 5:45-6:20pm. All violin and chorus students will perform from 6:45-7:20pm. Donations to support the music program will be gratefully accepted at the door but are not required to attend.

Flyers with more info about the concert have been sent out to music students and their parents. Stringed instruments must be tuned on the day of the concert – please see details on the flyer for dropping off violins and guitars.

As always, please help music students to remember their instruments and music/books on their music days: Riebli on Mondays, San Miguel on Tuesdays, and Mark West on Fridays. Please encourage students to practice a little every day. One half hour of instruction once a week is not enough to learn these instruments. Daily practice can make the biggest difference, making it more fun for the student as well.

Happy playing!

PTA: ¡Ven y únete a nosotros! ¡Una “nota” de la Sra. Kaufman:

¡Feliz juego!
